“£95 call-out charge and nobody came on Saturday. Took the morning off for nothing. Still waiting for a refund.”

“Boiler stopped working before the weekend. They explained the call-out charge, arrived when agreed and got the heating back on.”

Fictional UK example: three reviews removed after supporting evidence was accepted. The complaint and the amounts shown are illustrative; criticism of a call-out charge alone is not grounds for removal.

THE GOOGLE APPROACH

The details of the visit.
The grounds for a report.

Check which location the review is attached to and what it says happened. A booking at another branch, a service you do not offer or a documented competitor connection may warrant investigation. A low score or a disagreement about a call-out fee is not enough on its own: any report must identify a breach of Google’s policies.

For an initial assessment, send the review link, the relevant branch and a short timeline. If Google has already rejected a report, include its response so we can assess the available next step. Google decides whether to remove the review.

What happened? What can you show?

These fictional examples show how we separate a service dispute from a possible policy breach. Google and Trustpilot each apply their own rules.

“Booked the town-centre branch for Saturday and paid a £40 deposit. Turned up to find it shut. Nobody has replied about my refund.”

Which branch and booking does this describe?

Check the branch address, appointment date and service mentioned. A booking under another person’s name may explain a missing record. If the details point to a different business, document the mismatch; an empty diary search alone does not prove the review is fake.

NO GUESSWORK

Before you challenge it.
Know where you stand.

Bookings, charges and mistaken identities.
Here is how we approach the questions behind a disputed review.

Ask us something else

A disagreement about a charge, cancellation or missed appointment is not, by itself, grounds for removal. We compare the review with the booking, the service described and the platform’s rules. If it is genuine criticism with no policy breach, we will say so.
